Looking for an industrial-style espresso machine that heats up quickly and brews espresso with fresh water every time? Then the UNO PID is perfect for you. This machine features a powerful thermoblock coupled with a PID, ensuring the temperature of your coffee and steam stays within 1.5°C. Thanks to the 58mm brewing unit, Ascaso ensures that all E61 filter holders fit this machine. This makes finding, or keeping, accessories a lot easier.
The vibration pump works while you're making coffee or steaming milk. It provides constant pressure, exactly as Ascaso's designers intended. Instead of a traditional boiler, Ascaso uses a stainless steel thermoblock system. This means significantly lower energy consumption, faster heating and fresh water every time you make a cup. The choice of stainless steel also makes the UNO PID particularly resistant to limescale, which greatly extends its service life.
What truly sets this machine apart are the programmable buttons with volumetric controls. Most home espresso machines dose based on time, but the Steel UNO PID uses a flow meter to precisely measure the water volume. This technology, typically found in professional commercial machines, ensures much greater consistency. This way, you get the exact same amount of coffee every time, without any guesswork.
The build quality is also excellent: the signature Steel design has been around for several years with great success. As is typical of the Catalan people, the aesthetics have also been considered, with features like the steam valve and filter holder made of wood. A bonus: Ascaso comes standard with a beautifully matching tamper, filter holder, various filter baskets and more.
With the cold-touch steam wand, you can steam super-soft milk. However, be aware that espresso machines with a steam thermoblock are less powerful than a traditional steam boiler. You'll need a little more patience when frothing, but the end result is certainly no less impressive. The Steel UNO PID does not have a hot water wand.
In short: The Ascaso Steel UNO PID is intended for the espresso drinker who always wants the same volume, and who sometimes makes a detour to cappuccino.
